My parents and I live with my grandparents, like most traditional Chinese families do.

“3046088” is the home phone number of my grandfather’s house in the 90’s.

It is a Soviet style house which was built in the 50’s. The house is becoming structurally unsound with time passing.

In 2005, my parents tore down the old house and built a different one on the same property.

The new house is larger and brighter, but I do not feel like it is my home.

When I close my eyes, I can still recall the interiors of the old house.

After 20 years I can still remember my original home phone number.

I know it is not only a number but a sense of security.

I travel around because I feel my home does not exist in this world, it only appears in my mind.

When people ask me “where are you from?” this series of painting is the answer.
